APPLICATIONS

Neurosurgery

FiberLase S is based on a 1.55 micron fiber laser and a 0.97 micron diode laser for use in neurosurgery (vertebroscience), traumatology and orthopedics. The laser radiation is delivered by means of thin IPG Surgical Fibers.

Applications:

- cartilage reconstruction in cervical and lumbar spine osteochondrosis complicated by herniation (median, paramedian disc hernias, disc protrusions) and the development of compression-ischemic radiculopathy;
- treatment of instability of vertebral motor segments (spondylolisthesis) of I-II degrees;
- Puncture denervation of the trigeminal nerve;
- facet syndrome;
- trigeminal neuralgia.

Osteochondrosis is a degenerative disease of the intervertebral discs that lies at the crossroads of vertebroscience and neurosurgery. Puncture laser thermoplasty (PLT), which is used to treat intervertebral disc disease, has been gaining popularity among neurosurgeons and orthopedists worldwide in recent years. This surgery uses laser radiation with a wavelength of 0.97 and 1.56 µm. A special feature of the method is the formation of channels in the cartilage reconstruction through a single puncture by using puncture needles, which in combination with laser exposure stimulates the regeneration process of cartilage tissue.

Also low-invasive puncture laser methods are effective in the treatment of pain syndromes in the joints (including joints of the spinal column) and nerve nodes.

Advantages:

- minimally invasive surgeries
- stimulation of cartilage regeneration of intervertebral discs;
- Reduced postoperative period and treatment time;
- low probability of postoperative complications;
- Low damage to the nerve and vascular structures of the spine;
- possibility of treatment without hospitalization.
